Introduction
to Mice
Mice are one of the most common rodents on the planet. The domestication of pet mice goes back thousands of years.
When fully grown, the average domestic mouse weighs just 1 ounce and is 2 inches long or less. Male mice are referred to as bucks, while females are called does. Baby mice are called pups.
Mice are generally easy to care for. They are usually healthy throughout their approximately 2-year lifespan and are comfortable in a temperature that is comfortable to humans—generally between 65 and 75 degrees F.
