Introduction

Considering the variety in size, shape, color and more for all breeds of dogs kept as pets, it is amazing to think that they are still the same species. Any dog breed can be bred with any other, producing a hybrid (although some will call them mutts). In many cases, breeds were deliberately intermixed to produce desired traits, with some of the resulting hybrids later recognized as purebred breeds of their own.
